I love my job. I really do! It's so rewarding to see students you've worked closely with learn a new concept or improve a low grade. I love sharing their excitement when their hard work has paid off. I can't help laughing at some of their crazy antics. I love my job, but this week has been absolute anarchy at the Junior High!
Anticipation for the upcoming break is mounting and the students are on the verge of rebellion. A formal declaration of independence has yet to be drafted, but I can't help feeling that one is forthcoming. Control of the student body is shaky.
Littering. Running in the hall. Laziness. General resistance to authority.
Complaints among students are common.
Homework! Teachers! Inequality! THIS IS STUPID!
I understand their sentiment. I do. After all, last year at this time I was a student myself. Fortunately or unfortunately, I now find myself on the other side of the power struggle. All I can say is, "Thank Goodness there is only one day more!"
One day more of futile prodding. One day more till I'll sleep in. One day more till we earn freedom. One day more till Christmas Break!
